I am a military veteran, was a military spouse for 10 years, and am now a veteran spouse. I entered the counseling field because I recognized the need and wanted to help fellow military members and their families. I graduated in 2013 with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I interned at a therapy office in New York while completing my degree. I conducted both individual and group therapy sessions with clients of all ages. I addressed a variety of topics to include social skills, coping skills, and emotional regulation. After completing my internship, I was hired by the agency to work as a staff counselor until I relocated. I continued my work with counseling when I volunteered as a counselor at the Chaplain Family Life Center in Fort Polk, LA.
