I’ve spent my life living around Marines, as a daughter and wife of retired Marines. I watched both my husband and father leave for multiple combat and non-combat deployments, TAD assignments, and our family PCS’d countless times. As a mental health therapist, I’ve thrived working with military personnel and their families because I’ve been there. I understand the language, the culture, and the uncertainty of this life. My personal experience and professional background has given me unique insight into the specific struggles that active duty, veteran, and first responder families face. People tell me the things they most appreciate about working with me is my ability to be blunt, use humor, and be real.
I worked with the DoD at MCAS Cherry Point and MCAGCC Twentynine Palms through Marine Corps Community Services. I was also able to serve at the VA in Milwaukee, WI and San Antonio, TX in multiple programs including: the Mental Health Outpatient Program, Homeless Program, and Primary Care Mental Health Integration Program. In addition, I worked with FOCUS (a resiliency training program assisting military families to better manage difficult transitions) in Okinawa, Japan and MCAGCC Twentynine Palms.
