With over 10 years of experience providing services to combat-injured veterans and their families who grapple with impacts of physical disabilities, invisible injuries, and intimacy issues, I understand how difficult it can be to share the most vulnerable parts of yourself with others. My goal is to assist clients make meaning of their lived military experiences, to identify positive strengths, healthy support systems, and coping skills.
I offer an empathetic and non-judgmental environment where clients may safely process their lived experiences. Areas of expertise include: Traumatic Brain Injury, complex PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, childhood trauma, life transitions, grief, and non-traditional loss. Our office provides wellness services such as Yoga and Nutrition Counseling as well.
MSW and Certificate in Mental Health, Families, and Substance Abuse, Tulane University.
Military spouse since 2002 with extensive knowledge of combat injuries, family trauma, and caregiver associated stress. Experience includes: Executive Director for a Military/Veteran nonprofit organization, member of VA Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program stakeholder board, VA Caregiver program legislation, PsychArmor Institute Caregiver Advisory board, and military related domestic violence legislation and advocacy. Additional knowledge acquired through University of South Carolina Military Matters certificate.
