Thank you for seeking out help. It takes bravery and courage to take this step. Sarah Machamer is a clinical social worker who earned a master’s degree from Ohio University. Sarah has experience in trauma focused care, crisis work, counseling, and evaluation. She is EMDR Therapy trained, and is skilled at meeting clients where they are through a trauma focused perspective. With a strength based and integrative approach, Sarah is passionate about moving clients into a place of change, and healing.

Sarah’s areas of clinical expertise include trauma, anxiety, depression, issues of abuse, crisis, relationship issues, and self esteem. Her biggest desire is to provide a safe place to process through struggles, and to connect clients with the hope and freedom that is needed to overcome.
Trauma does not have to be something big or obvious, trauma is subjective and often times stems from childhood experiences, even if our childhoods were seemingly healthy. This is something that

I have been a military spouse for over 10 years. My husband has been in the Army and now the Airforce going into deployment. As a clinical social worker I am able to use my life experience to work with military spouses and families that are going through a similar experience from a trauma focused perspective using EMDR Therapy. My family and friend support system, along with research and education has helped me to be aware of specific issues that military families face.
